A big, beautiful statement jar with serious shelf presence. This lidded ginger jar was hand cast from a classic 1978 Arnel's mold and signed and dated on the base by the maker, with all over embossed florals, chrysanthemums, blossoms, and leafy scrolls, wrapping the whole body over a softly textured ground. Here is the fun part: it reads as creamy white in the room, but catch it in a photo or a certain light and a soft blue celadon hue blooms across the glaze, which is exactly the cool, chinoiserie, grandmillennial look people hunt for. It stands about 11 inches tall to the top of the lid and about 7 inches across at the widest, with the lid present and seating well. Honest note, the fine all over crazing is original to the firing on these hand poured pieces, not damage. Because Arnel's made the mold and a hobbyist poured and glazed it, we describe it honestly as mold cast rather than factory pottery. A mantel, an entry table, or a styled bookshelf will love it.
Condition: 1978 Arnel's MOLD ginger jar with lid, signed/dated on base. Hand cast (not factory). All-over embossed florals. Reads white/ivory but shows a soft blue celadon hue on camera. ~11 in H (with lid) x ~7 in W. Lid seats. Fine all over crazing original to firing, not damage.
